"The sea gives me a feeling of endless possibilities"
The Tide Library
A collection of books and resources has been gathering itself alongside and at the same time as InTheSaltSpace. Presently very modest in scale, like the project itself, but big on ideas; the collection comprises a collection of very diverse titles, and is growing all the time.
The Tide Library, as it's come to be known, brings together titles on reconnection and change; the sea and the coast; the nature of leadership and female empowerment; blue mind and blue health; authenticity and balance; wild places and wild lives; and the astonishing geology and landscapes of Cornwall & Devon; along with much, much more. These titles range widely across handbook and memoir, non fiction and fiction, self help and atlas, poetry and guide. They have not only helped spark and ignite the key ideas that form the wider InTheSaltSpace project: they also continue to partner, feed, grow and enrich it.
I never thought I'd found/name/convene a library. But I realised that I wanted to celebrate and name the place where all these things collided and resonated with each other: the same resonance of ideas and cross-connections that can also be found InTheSaltSpace itself, each time we step into it.
Please note, this is at present a personal and very small resource library of less than 100 titles - not a big public lending library! Most of the books it comprises are currently in print. I am hoping to share these resources more widely with interested people as we work, and the books already form an important part of our in-person sessions; so, if you are interested in this idea and would like to know more, or maybe there's something you'd like to suggest, discuss, or contribute to The Tide Library - do get in touch!
